Howard H. Callaway papers, 1967-1968.

The subseries consists of papers of Howard H. Callaway pertaining to his service with Callaway Gardens (Pine Mountain, Ga.) both with the Ida Cason Callaway Foundation and Gardens Services, Inc. from 1967-1968. The papers include correspondence, memoranda, as well as annual reports and notes on trustees meetings of the Foundation. The correspondence contains letters between Callaway and trustees on Foundation policy; letters between Callaway and his mother, Virginia Hand Callaway, regarding their philosophy on the Gardens' purpose; and correspondence with William T. Cooksey and Fred C. Galle dealing with the development and maintenance of Foundation property. Materials pertaining to Callaway's involvement with Gardens' Services consists of memoranda to Dept. heads regarding maintenance of lodging and recreation facilities and letters to guests in response to either complaints or compliments.
